When we breath in our Yoga practice, we use the bandhs which involve the accessory muscles of inhalation (intercostal) and exhalation (traversus abdominus) these postural muscles are continously activated.as much as the ability allows and clarified with each breathThis allows a continuous exchange between blood and air throughout the full cycle of each and every breath. Its almost like we are breathing in and out at the same time. As the body is held with integrity it will take in the exact amount of oxygen it needs...at that moment. Our perceptions of how much air our body needs can never match the reality of what the wisdom of our body knows it actually requires. So leave the breath alone!
