When you slow down video and audio it becomes quite spooky. I - TopicsExpress

When you slow down video and audio it becomes quite spooky. I wonder if this is because when we are scared time seems to slow down. Ive heard psychologist say this effect is caused by your mind taking a certain number of samples of the environment per second and then when the adrenaline hits and we are spooked we sample the environment more frequently and so time appears to slow down. Much like a slow-mo film which takes 2000 frames per second. So when we see and hear something in slow-mo it reminds us of times in our life when were spooked and time appeared to slow down. Like when I had to walk out to the sleep out to go to bed just after watching The Shining at 2am.
