Whenever anyone asks me about whether or not I have a New Years - TopicsExpress

Whenever anyone asks me about whether or not I have a New Years Resolution, I always make a huge deal out of poo-pooing such a thing. I usually roll my eyes to properly communicate how someone as savvy and cynical as myself would NEVER engage in such a pedestrian activity. I follow the lead of all the cool people I know who say that they not only will not make a resolution, they will not tolerate anyone else make a resolution within their general proximity. I say all the usual things about how its gonna be so crowded at my gym in January from all the people who dont ever go to the gym when Im there all the time (not even true) and I might say something about how people never change or ask some rhetorical question about why the New Year even matters. How come people cant just make a change any old time of the year ifn they genuinely mean to change. I tried this bullshit with my Mom who saw right threw it and called me out because she knows that I secretly make a resolution every year and then bloke smoke up everybodys ass about how I dont do that. I jump on the Too Cool For School Bandwagon and stop being such a follower. So, now I find myself in the circular position of making a resolution not to be a follower by making a resolution to not be a follower. But, arent I following by making a resolution in the first place? Would it now be considered subversive to actually make a resolution? CounterCool? Its all very confusing. I suppose I should just make one if I want to. And I want to. If you want to know what it is, youll have to come to my house and rub butts with me to More Than a Feeling by Boston. Thats my new jam.
