Where does those who want to occupy land live currently? Whos land do they want to occupy? Where are these people comming from? Are they even South Africans? Can we agree citizens of South Africa must get themselves ready and stand together in defending the land they bought and carry a title deed for? EFF to launch land occupation programmes - 2015-01-18 14:11 The EFF in Gauteng would launch a programme to occupy vacant land this year, the party in the province said on Sunday. Top on our priority list are the land occupation programmes, which will see dispossessed communities taking ownership of vacant land as a means of empowering themselves, the Economic Freedom Fighters provincial spokesperson Ntobeng Ntobeng said in a statement. The Gauteng provincial command team (PCT) held its first meeting on Saturday. The meeting followed the national peoples assembly (NPA) which was held in Bloemfontein in December. The national conference elected the partys top six leaders and 35 additional members to the partys central command team. Among its resolutions, the conference called for the invasion of unoccupied land across the country. The partys commission on land and agrarian reform said those who have lodged land claims should also occupy the claimed land. Ntobeng said the demand for President Jacob Zuma to be accountable for some of the R260m public funds spent on upgrading his private home in Nkandla, would receive attention in the provincial legislature. This initiative of EFF is premised on the non-negotiable anti-corruption stance of the EFF which states that, under an EFF government, state officials and politicians found guilty of defrauding public purses will get a prison sentence of no less than 20 years. The partys former national coordinator, Mpho Ramakatsa was condemned for communicating through the media. On Friday, Ramakatsa reportedly wrote a letter addressed to party leader Julius Malema and all provincial secretaries, giving the EFF seven days to declare the conference null and void. Ramakatsa, who could not garner enough votes for the secretary general position at the Bloemfontein conference, reportedly said the conference was an undemocratic, unconstitutional and irregular gathering. Godrich Gardee was elected secretary general. Ramakatsa wanted the party to reverse the elective conference results or else he would seek recourse elsewhere. Ntobeng said: We confirm that he will never find expression and support amongst our members for as long as he continues to define himself outside of the organisation, as this recent deceitful, untruthful media stunt has shown him to be doing. The party would host a provincial general assembly (PGA) this year once all regional general assemblies were consolidated. The remaining 20% of EFF branches, based on a total of 508 wards in Gauteng, must be launched by 31 March 2015. Student command teams of all the institutions of higher learning in Gauteng will be fully launched by the end of June 2015, said Ntobeng. SAPA
