Where was I? Betsy has a serious quarrel with boyfriend Connor - TopicsExpress

Where was I? Betsy has a serious quarrel with boyfriend Connor after he and Godwin make a significant change to a knitting display in Betsys shop without consulting her. Betsy discovers that a cinnabar box, a trio of needle cases, and a little ball of ivory carved to look as if it were covered with red-eyed mice were up for auction in St. Paul - but disappeared during a period when bidders were permitted to look over the items to be sold. It was not reported to the police because auction houses and galleries dont report thefts unless the items taken are famous or of extraordinary value. Why? Because they dont want to scare off people with things to sell. But how did these items end up in Riordans house? He didnt own a car, didnt like taking public transportation, and hadnt been farther from Excelsior than Wayzata in years. Meanwhile, Betsy discovers that the woman who sent her the handkerchief died years ago. Her daughter does not do needlework and sold or threw away all her mothers needlework things. Gracie, who crochets, begins to duplicate the lace edging so she can write out the pattern for Betsy. (This pattern is what will be in the back of the book.) Im starting to think I should stop here, lest I give away the solution. From all the foregoing, what should the title be, if not The Needle Case? Or Killer Crochet?
