While I do not doubt that corruption and abuse of government funds exists in some of the aboriginal nations, it is unfair and misleading to include private/business-related income under a lump sum as chief income. I do agree with the new policy of disclosing their actual income as chief because it creates fiscal transparency and responsibility for all Canadians in what are often touchy and heated politics when it comes to federal money. And it brings non-Native and Native closer together as we are not so different, in that our politicians can be just as crooked - whether they are in Kwikwetlem or Ottawa.
