While the Honorable Minister of Finance was doing his thing in Parliament this afternoon, I had cause to visit the a few stores on Regent Street, and what a shock I got! The area is literally Little China! All those shops and stores have been economically nationalist by Chinese nationals. I was looking to see if Jet Li, of Donnie Yeng would have been moving about among the crowd. I know that our government cannot deal with what will be the spin off of the endemic corrupt and illegal practices that will evolve from the opening of this floodgate! Also saw an African Guyanese woman selling cassava bread, casreep etc., at the side of the pave and asked her, ...are these Chinese also? She said, Not yet. Anyway, on my way down the Street, just past the Bourda Post Office I was privileged to encounter an amazing site, ... a Black man and an Indian woman, lying amidst the riches of the poor, cardboards and other impoverished necessities, with destitute persons streaming along their heads and towards their feet, while they were very comfortably discussing matters as if man and wife. What a sigh of human development, Mr Minister!
