While this interview is going on 6 months old, its still relevant and very informative. You might recognize David Kaufman as he is a frequent guest on Lang & OLeary. In this video we have linked to the part where he talks about how higher net worth investors should think about investing. In Ontario, he suggests investing in things such as private mortgage funds (sometimes structured as MICs - like Alta Pacific). In the interview he states that these are reserved for high net worth investors (accredited) due to securities regulation. In BC, Alberta and the western provinces the average Canadian can in fact invest in these types of private mortgage funds.
