Who are we kidding we have spent 10s of billions on a project that has already been canceled using early 1960s technologies in a project that no scientist can tell you what is being proposed can actually be done simply because we dont know what will happen beyond the Van Burens Belt regardless of solar flares in fact what we do know is no life can survive our side the magnetic belts protection against solar rays. Then to hear the audacity of the NASA commentator talk about crossing a threshold that has been crossed a 1000s times already for nearly a half century. This project was ill conceived and its going in the wrong direction. NASA and our government is caught up in this socialist view based upon the advancements from the moon project in the 1960s. Certainly great innovations were developed from a project that consumed nearly 20% of our nations budget during a time of war over 17 years. We have a gold mine out there already discovered very close to home thats surface dust holds my recoverable energy then all past and present known recovered and recoverable energy sources on the earth. Helium 3. Here on earth helium is also in great abundance the problem however is it requires a great amount of energy to refine more so then the cost of oil at $250 a barrel in fact unless we build 100s of nuclear plants we would not even have enough electricity to convert the helium here on earth to produce power nor gas to fuel future combustion and electric engines. Even if we managed to build safe nuclear power plants that would be needed the net effect would be a 25% decrease in power out put to power input to create the power. However that all changes when you start the process with helium 3 which is the purest form of helium known. This reduces required energy input by nearly 87% not just flipping conversion coast but as well greatly reducing the infrastructure need to produce helium in a direct energy and or gas. For me this symbolizes whats wrong with America today. We are dead headed looking for glory and hype while ignoring what are real problems are and working towards solutions. Investing in reducing that cost of transport of materials from the Moon to the earth and in building the needed lift capability to get resources from the earth to the moon while developing construction methods and sustainable systems for life on the moon should be the fundamental goal of our country for 330,000,000 reasons. The benefits from the out come of such a project to this nation are astronomical and needed. If the US was to develop and execute such an effort which we can do, we have the technology we have the ability, the result would be in partnership is energy companies allow us to over come our governments long term liabilities. The revenue from the export from energy whether that be in raw electricity or inert gas would be astronomical. If I was to list all the future benefits from such an adventure the list would be endless. If you think this is all pie in the sky think again most International airports have already converted their transportation systems to liquid hydrogen which is produced by the low grade very expressive to convert helium here on earth. Helium converted to hydrogen as can be easily used in ever single combustion engine on the planet. The car you drive can be easily converted to run on hydrogen gas. BMW and Mercedes already in Germany hydrogen only combustion and electric engines. Germany 10 years ago launched a program to provide distribution of hydrogen gas through the country. Hydrogen gas can be used in a combustion engine or a electric fuel cell and its only by product is water. In 1961 Americans dared to dream big after nearly a 100 years as the largest most productive economy in the world. In those years leading up to the first man walking on the Moon we Americans did huge things we did huge things of substance that improved the lives of people around the globe. Today the biggest thing we can think of is social media and the internet and we wonder why since the first time since the end of the civil war America is no longer the greatest economy in the world. For all the self haters out there of this great Nation I have a question name me one Nation other then us you would trust to lead the world in this 21st century?
