Why is it important? A question a friend of mine asked to me some - TopicsExpress

Why is it important? A question a friend of mine asked to me some minutes ago. I would say immediately: Because it was there. Because WE CAN. But the reality is the opportunity to analyze matter as it was when our star system begun. Before planets, before this matter got buried deep under chilometers of dirt. And another important issue: because now we know we can land anything on any celestial body, even something that could be dangerous. We know we are able to land an engine on an asteroid and gently deflect it from a collision trajectory with Earth. Now we are more confident that we can save our planet, if the need arises. An we are for once all united by science. And this is as beautiful as the music of this video: youtu.be/PUpSVxoCcik
