Why not Sarah Palin? There was a time when voting for a woman per se could mean voting for progress and against the suppression of women. Today in many colleges and workplaces women outnumber men and are often performing better than men. (Of course we should work harder on the equal-pay issue.) I don’t know how relevant gender is anymore as qualification for presidential candidacy. Having observed the warmongering and jingoism of Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi and Golda Meir; and corruption and incompetence of Benazir Bhutto, Khaleda Zia and and Hasina Wajed (of Bangledesh), I’m a bit leery about leery for a women-led governments.
