Wildcat I had to write something So I went out for a walk Into the night, suffering From that endless silent talk Been going through motions Working for a chance to leave Been wandering oceans With my heart under my sleeve Can you tell me what’s wrong? I just need to belong to someone You already know who I have in mind This summer seems endless Filled with heavy-heartedness Oh someone please put this Overtired soul to rest And build a new one with Select pieces from the old That have been refurbished With a heart that’s not so cold It’s yours It’s mine It’s yours Can you tell me what’s wrong? I just need to belong to someone: The friendliest wildcat you can find Yet fierce enough to fend off my own mind So as I walked about Stringing words up in my head To myself, singing out Trying to wash away the dread My soul filled up with hope Having cultivated my Garden of fog and smoke That culminates inside my mind Can you tell me what’s wrong? I just need to belong to someone You already know who I have in mind The friendliest wildcat you can find The friendliest, gentlest, prettiest, loveliest Yet petrifies me with fear every time I had to write something So I went out for a walk
