Winnie-The-Pooh has triumphed over modern titles to be named the best-loved childrens book of the last 150 years in the UK. Harry Potter didnt make the top 10 in the United Kingdom poll. Indeed, no books published since 2000 made it into the top 10. What would you put on your best loved American childrens books? To be fair, they have to be written by Americans - - - so that nixes everything on this list plus Harry Potter. Top of my US list? The Lorax, Where the Wild Things Are, and Charlottes Web.
