Winter is here and Safari Termite & Pest Control would like to provide you with tips on how to keep the landscape healthy through winter months that can sometimes be harsh - •Young or small-growing trees will benefit from structural pruning now •Pruning and removing dead limbs on large trees now will help them become healthier, more attractive for spring, and safer during the next hurricane season. •Perennials and grasses should also be pruned at this time, while theyre dormant. •Unless your lawn is prone to disease, irrigating once a week for a short period of time is beneficial. •Wait until spring to prune certain flowering shrubs after they bloom like azaleas, gardenias, and camellias since they form their flowers on mature growth. •It’s important to prune shrubs such as viburnums and ligustrums now but not right before a freeze. •You may still need to cut the lawn during the winter months and remember to keep it at the highest setting as the lawn needs a blanket too!
