With my ankle, consecutive running days are out. So today is a running day:) really excited, going to ramp up to 10k. All day Ive been like my dog, instead of throw my ball, throw my ball, please, please throw my ball, its been, I get run, I get to run, I get to run!!!!! All day Ive been like this, with about a hour of the work left to go, Im wearing out and running out of gas. But October 5, is my first 10k, Im running out of time to get ready. Its important to get this distance in tonight. Get home. Hungry, grab a graham cracker, slap on some peanut butter. Need to get a quick charge in my phone and Bluetooth headphones. Get changed, but first put a couple band aids and tape on my heals. That will stop the heal blisters. Stop and stretch, or bad things could happen in my left leg. Frustrated a bit that this has taken up a solid hour. Time to grab the headphones, fix my sneakers, grab some water, and do the 0.25 mile walk, and a long last, run! Wow! Running better than Monday night! Cool, first lap around the seven streets that make up our neighborhood, check, 2.25 done. ke$ha yelling timber, its going down! Come around a corner, and streaming through the pine trees is the most glorious golden, blinding sun! Wow! What a sight! I have got to work on strapping my GoPro camera to my hat to get pictures of what I see. Im noticing this far into the play list has a lot of Flock of Seagulls 2.25 to go, pace at 11:30 per mile, cool! And then CRAMP!! OH! CRAP! My right calf is screaming! Kinda stumble, trying to shake my right leg, well thats not helping! I have like 2 miles to go! I dont want to quit! Im not going to quit! Damn it I want to tell Liz that I did it, that I did 10k tonight. I start thinking, I know I twist to the left, this pounds my left heal, the road here is crowned, and slopes to the right, I cross to the other side, use my left leg for power. The right leg is just along for the ride right now. Quarter mile goes by, and another. Oh well lost 10 seconds per minute on my pace. 1.4 miles to go, I can do this! Im feeling better, lets push this a little, hey my leg didnt fall off! Cool! .75 to go! Oh hell ya! Ive got this. Love it when Nike+ says keep pushing, your almost at your goal. So 0.1 mile to go. Awesome! Oh wow! 1:13:33, thats awesome for me!! So tonight I OutRAN the sunlight, and am ecstatic to run 6.22 Bob miles for Liz! Where am I now? On the floor silly, icing my heel, numbing my bone spur. This has been an awesome day :)
