Wonder how many main-stream media outlets covered this little - TopicsExpress

Wonder how many main-stream media outlets covered this little tidbit? And, if so, how much was told? The old healthcare system NEEDED to be fixed...no doubt. But before the government took it over, and SO poorly, it could have - and SHOULD have - been fixed by the private companies. Are the insurance companies in it for you? No. But it is VERY clear to me that the government isnt, either. Tort reform and portability across state lines COULD have been tried first and the free market would have regulated itself to truly lower costs. Instead, healthcare - the best in the world - was ripped out and put in the hands of government bureaucracy. Think VA, Social Security, Welfare, etc. How well does the government really manage YOUR money? Think THEY are not just as greedy as corporate America? The thing about corporate America - free capitalism - is that, in most cases, the consumer has some control. They can refuse to use the company that is not meeting their needs. Are there some companies that have a monopoly? Sure. Although that has changed, and there are less monopolies, it still exists. And that needs to be stopped. But once the government has control of something, there is no other choice. You rely on them, they give to you. And if they change their minds? Well, we can vote, but in many cases (most cases??) that doesnt do anything. Especially if the government really never wanted you to have the choice, anyway. Do I want those who dont have healthcare to have it? Sure, I do. But in America, hospitals give treatment to those who need it - regardless of coverage. And, maybe more of those who werent covered before are now covered. But what about those who HAD it, who can no longer afford it? (NO, the rates did NOT go down $2,500 per family). And, yes, deductibles and co-pays make a HUGE difference. Some may have coverage, but meeting those high costs have MUCH higher costs to use it. And think about this. WHY was the employer mandate held off until next year (after elections)? AND, why did so many get exemptions (i.e., Unions, for example, who pushed hard to get it). And what is in store for those employer-covered insured that will hit next year? Anyone care to take a guess?
