Word of the day: Courage Defined as: the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery; to have the courage of one’s convictions, to act in accordance with one’s beliefs, especially in spite of criticism. Are you ready to activating your engines today? We understand that somedays, our bodies are a bit sluggish and may need a boost to stay rev-up. This week, make it your responsibility to boost your energy levels, monitor your mood and stay positive. Studies have shown that long-lasting results are achieved when they come to us gradually. Think in small increments of three, for example. Rather than plunge into making major changes this week, try on some food for thought in ‘fun sizes’. Pick only 3 small things that you can work on and commit to them. For example; Mike a shift of courage in your pull-ups, dead lifts and squats. OR Add 3 new exercises to your routine such as recovery walk, restorative yoga, or an exercise you’d been avoiding. OR Stay focused on using the 3 C’s: Commit, Courage, and “I Can”- remove all “I Can’t’. Or Find 3 beautiful things everyday and appreciate them. OR Find a beautiful quality in 3 persons you meet (including yourself) and offer a sincere compliment. You may be surprised at the profound impact you’ll enjoy in making simple tiny shifts, rather than setting unrealistic sights on big goals. To help staying power and adherence, remember to also celebrate small victories that come your way— acknowledge them and spread the joys of a Motivated Monday! See you this week for more on nutrition and workout tips!
