World Cup Football is more than a Sport!! ************************************ The football fever starts 3 months before the tournament kick started. in 90s,fortnightly magazine called Sports Star was very famous.and it would have the entire world different sports news. They would have a poster on middle of the magazine and I remember we had sports star posters all over our home. Baggio, Maradona,romario,butragino,Schillaci, Platini, Roger Milla, Klinsmann,Stojkovic, Lothar matthaus, Paulo Maldini, Roberto carlos, Bergkamp,Batistuta, Stoichkov, Suker, Ronaldo and many more... Our entire home was filled with sports legends posters and i had a personal diary with these stars photos. we didnt have a camera at that time to snap a few pics of my home. It just remains fresh in our memories. I started watching football at a very early age but the most memorable was 1994 world cup in USA (i was in 5th std). I was grown up and I was very much aware of the sports and I didnt even miss one italian game . I watched every game of the entire tournament. Not only me, my brothers along with my grand father. We shout when our favorite teams like Italy, Brazil, Germany wins.. I remember when we used to prepare coffee and keep it in the flask for the whole night. The timing was amazing because the tournament happened in US and in India its nighttime and DD telecasted all the games. We prepare coffee and we sit together and watch all the games. The highlights of previous game in the news, we even dont miss that. That was some amazing time. And when Brazil and Italy went to play finals and the infamous moment of Roberto Baggio missing the penalty shoot out when Brazil was up 3-2. Baggio standing in front of the net and the entire Brazilian team running towards the Goalie for celebrating their world cup.I realized we are alone when we lose the game.i dont know why did that 10 years boy wipe his eyes after final.that is football..... It showed the world that we are one despite of everything. Thats what world cup football denotes. It unites the world through football. No matter which country you are, no matter which religion you are, no matter which language you speak, we both love this amazing sport football which gives us this joy .........
