Worrying is it good for us? Scripture: Proverbs - TopicsExpress

Worrying is it good for us? Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 King James Version (KJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. My brothers and sisters. I just want to take time to encourage you with a short testimony. I am human just like you. We all have problems, we all have needs, we all have wants that all need and have to be met. But yes there are times when my problems seem to get the better of me and may cause me to be concerned and worry. But over the time i have learned that worrying does not solve anything. All it does is cause you to become uneasy, short tempered, it may even cause illness and last resort death. Worrying causes your blood pressure to go up, it gives you a head ache, it makes you not want to eat. None of these things are healthy for us. So i decided one day to just start praying about anything i would face from time to time. Although it may have taken a while at times, GOD did show up for me in his own timing. Sometimes right away and others i had to wait. Through it all it made me learn to trust in Jesus. It made me learn to depend on His word. It shaped me into being a better person, it made me stronger. Yes there are still things that can cause me to worry but i am better prepared to handle them. I am only human. I am not perfect. GOD did not call us to be perfect. He called us to serve him. Here are a few scriptures that can help you ◄ Matthew 6:27 New International Version Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Luke 12:24-34 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Proverbs 12:25 An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 13:5-6 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I do not have the answers to everything but what i can do is help you with words of encouragement that are found in the bible. Prayer: Lord we i come before you thanking You for all you have done in my life. I thank you for Your Son, for loving me and for taking care of me. Help me to overcome the spirit of worrying. I acknowledge all you have said in Your word and i choose to accept it. Continue to do your will in my life but dont forget there are things important to me like meeting deadlines and my needs. In the end You will get all the glory and honor. Thank You Lord once again. In Jesus name. Amen
