Wow... first day with all 3 kids back in school. Lucas is the only one still in public school. High IQ kids have "special needs" too but often times we have no resources available outside of what we create for them here at home. There was so much support for Jaidon and his needs, and it helped with his whole journey. Cali is all set with an incredible program and teacher, Jacob has been bumped in to the high school math class while being able to remain a middle schooler for his other classes, Lucas is in second grade and had a rough time last year, although the teacher gave a valiant effort. Handing him 20 worksheets that are not interesting to him is not the same as handing him one that is challenging and helping him work through it. We do our part at home, creating projects and experiments, always moving forward educationally and challenging them. Lucas is very age appropriate socially, so he needs to be with friends. I know teachers have a full plate managing classes, but I am able to teach and choreograph hordes of people at different levels and abilities how to do complicated things... so, I know it is possible. I am wondering how others have been creative with this issue...
