YAAAY! LONG LIVE THE SEA SHEPHERD!! Per Captain Paul Watson Happy New Year from Paris from Yana Rusinovich and I. After a year of successes at sea we are ready for the challenges of 2015. With every new year, Sea Shepherd grows stronger and this last year saw Sea Shepherd evolve from an organization into a global movement. As of today we have ships and crews in the Southern Indian Ocean, the North Pacific, the North and South Atlantic and we are active on all the world’s continents. This last year saw Sea Shepherd campaigns in the Southern Ocean, in Scotland, off Senegal and Cape Verde, in the waters off Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, the United States, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Sicily, at Taiji, Japan, in Hong Kong, off Western Australia and Queensland, off British Columbia, Brazil and Chile. Defending our oceans on the sea, in the courts, in classrooms, and in the media. We sail under the motto of “if the Ocean dies, we die! We sail undaunted, in defense of life and biodiversity and for the future of humanity, and all our natural relations that share this magnificent and wondrous planet with us. Everything that I have worked for since the day I founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society in 1977 has now become a movement that is unstoppable and will continue to grow in strength and to become increasingly more effective. So to all Sea Shepherd crew, volunteers, and supporters, thank you for helping us to achieve what we accomplished in 2014 and for your continuing involvement and support in 2015. We can and we will fight off the Goliaths of Doom in our Ocean, and we will win, because the alternative is simply unacceptable. “If the Ocean survives, we survive, a healthy ocean is a healthy planet. It is our life support system and we work to protect the crew that run our life support system – from the plankton to the great whales and all myriad of hard working marine species that make it possible for us to be alive on this planet.”
