*Yawn*.....laying in bed pondering.....that’s always dangerous. We all know that there is a People Problem here in the USA, and yes, we have to do a better job managing those socio-economic issues, but did you know that your safety on the highways is literally crumbling beneath you??? ***More importantly, did you also know that the average age of our bridges in the United States is 45 years old, and MOST were designed with a 50 year lifespan.....READ THAT LAST SENTENCE AGAIN....yeah...kinda scary. Imagine the good that could come from using even just 1/3 of the mega-billions in the U.S. fiscal year budget allotted to Foreign Aid to rebuild our own Highway & Bridge infrastructure. As vehicles get more economical, the Federal & State incomes from the Fuel Tax have dropped dramatically, and that Fuel Tax income that is used to pay for most of the maintenance, repair, and replacement of those bridges is only going to get worse over the next 10 years and beyond. A recent report stated that around 12% of US Bridges were found to be currently Structurally Deficient....But hey....We built libraries or something in Zambia instead. Enjoy your commute to work in the morning.....well be there on your radio...I have to cross ZERO bridges on my short route to work...yay me! Nite Nite Yall!
