...Yeah! Christ-focused movies! Im always glad to see Christian films with poor dialogue, cheesy plot lines and unnaturally negative portrayals of the non-religious. Bring it on, Christian Mingle. Or Gods Not Dead. Or Grace Unplugged. Now. If you want to reach people through film, thats brilliant. Any Christian whose talents fall in the field of media ought to not only make products, but make the best products they can. With God on their side, the project ought to shine. Not because the name of Christ is mentioned 50+ times, but because the message and production go above and beyond. If you want to challenge the world to love one another, to forgive, to find redemption, etc. show brokenness and hope. Let it be a Godly message for all. Christ spoke in parables - relatable stories with a message that isnt overly clear until you begin searching. They werent blatant. They were subtle. If films like Christian Mingle are your jam and they get you closer to God, thats cool. But it makes me sad when this becomes how the world sees Christian entertainment as opposed to brilliant lessons in Les Miserables, Shawshank Redemption, or La Strada.
