Yes, this is a Disneys film and it is supposed to be family oriented which supposed to make it very typical. But director John Lee Hancock shows very little the Disney magic. He chooses the more down to earth, emotional part. The film dived real deep into the heartbreaking reason behind the very happy Mary Poppins. Emma Thompson brings out a real ironic character of P. L. Travers. She is a serious, down to earth, pain-in-the-ass person who, deep inside, wishing for a magic to happen. While Tom Hanks character is the direct opposite. He is the magic of every children whom doesnt like to get down to earth. Both characters really create spark in every plot. You just cant wait to see the next plot they meet again. This film really brings out the meaning of behind every magic, there is a heartbreak. It is now in Malaysia. Do not miss it!!
