Yes, we have a transplant schedule! August 5th - day of testing to ensure my body is ready for transplant August 15th - sign consent forms August 19th - start high dose chemo 6 days - Day 1 - 6 hours of chemo - Days 2 to 5 - 2 hours of chemo twice a day - Day 6 - booster shot August 26th - stem cell infusion - 6 to 7 hours Wait and monitor for engraftment....it takes 30 to 45 days for the bone marrow produce normal levels of white. red blood cells and platelets. Hopefully by October 1st I will be workingout with a trainer to rebuild my strength and start participating in everyday activities. The high dose chemo wipes out all vacinations received as a child. I will likely be revacinated early next year. If all goes well, I should be able to return to work (at least part time) in early November.
