Yesterday, I finished reading Jerome Boyd Maunsells Susan Sontag (2014), a brief biography (184 pages) that rather whets the appetite for a longer account of her life and career. Too many famous encounters and controversies are lacking here; so a lot of less well-known stuff must be missing, too. But I had forgotten how much of Sontags non-fiction I had actually read; and was reminded that I only know one of the novels, The Benefactor. Yet, if I remember rightly, I own more. A hunting expedition into the attic is called for...
