Yesterday after church I announced to the members of St. Johns that after considerable thought, prayer, and counsel from others, I will be asking for a peaceful release from the Divine Call to be their pastor which was issued to me over 3 years ago. My last Sunday will be September 21st and on September 29th I will start my new job as a Service Desk Support Specialist at Kidwell in Lincoln, NE. As to my reasons, its simply a matter of feeling that its time for a change. Ive been a pastor for a little over 6 years now and while Ive been affirmed in that work, Ive struggled with whether or not its best vocational fit for me. Ive always had a passion for technology and now God has opened a door for me to pursue that passion. I believe Kidwell will be a great place to start my new career and I am excited for the opportunities that lie ahead there. In the 3+ years Ive served as the pastor at St. Johns, I have truly felt appreciated, loved, supported, and encouraged by the people here. I am grateful for everything the congregation has done to support me and my family. We have been well cared for, our needs have been more than adequately met, and I cant express my thanks enough. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with everyone here and it will be difficult to say goodbye, but now it is time for a new chapter in our lives. I ask simply that you keep Kris, the boys, and me in your prayers as we make this transition as well as St. Johns as they continue to carry out the Lords work here in Ord.
