Yesterday has been quite a day.... With my brother and his family - TopicsExpress

Yesterday has been quite a day.... With my brother and his family coming for a visit this weekend, and the open house next week, I had to get my Epicure Office organized. I needed a few supplies, so before I started, I went to the store to get files and what not. While there I started talking with someone about an offer the store was having. The conversation turned to being self-employed, and I mentioned that I was a consultant with Epicure Selections. Turns out that the woman was actually looking for a new consultant! I gave her my card, and got her contact information. When I got home, I started to get my things organized, and I found a T4 to a previous tenant that had gotten mixed up with my documentation. I called her employer and left a message for the woman to call me. She called immediately and asked if she could come by to pick up her mail. I said absolutely. In the meantime, I stapled a Herb & Garlic Dip Mix and a business card to her mail. I also got a catalog and the current flyers together, ready at the door for her. When she got here, I gave her the mail, and told her that she could have a sample for her troubles. She said Oh! My mom used to buy Epicure Selections before she moved out west!, I said that I could be her new consultant if she liked. Then, after all of that work was done, we had to go to the local mall to pick out some glasses for some of my daughters. While at the mall, we stopped into a small antique shop, and I found some old cookbooks that I liked, so I bought them. While paying for them, I was talking with the cashier, and the conversation turned to how Im a chef by trade, and how cookbooks are a bit of an addiction for me - especially old ones. The cashier said that she would love to take me home. I said that I do tastings and demonstrations, and offered her my card. She said that she might like to get a couple of her friends together. So the moral of the story? A) It pays to get organized, and B) If youre open to the opportunities around you, you will never know where you can find a new customer, hostess, or teammate! ;)
