Yesterday was amazing at the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was amazing at the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Simulation Center at Mayo Clinic here in Jacksonville. They have revolutionary technology behind these walls to help our medical teams reach their full potential. From robotic surgery simulation to complex laparoscopic surgery simulation to a virtual dissection table, this place is state-of-the-art. Allowing our medical teams of professionals to push the envelop to try new techniques, perfect the fundamentals and innovate is a key to reducing overall medical cost. This hands-on facility allows for the growth and development of those that take care of us to perfect their skills. If you have a high school student that is interested in the medical field and you are in JAX (or willing to come), Mayo offers a high school boot camp. The next class is in October. The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for high school students to learn about potential careers in healthcare, and to create an exciting, hands-on experience to attract young people to healthcare careers.
