You are experiencing stomach weight gain because your body cant - TopicsExpress

You are experiencing stomach weight gain because your body cant utilize insulin very well. As a result of that your blood sugar levels are easily elevated. When that happens your body uses carbs in a way different than they are intended to use. Instead of making glycogen for fuel, it stored it in adipose tissue (body fat). It does this specifically in the stomach region because of its proximity to the liver and pancreas, which are the organs responsible for the creation of insulin, glycogen and other carb related biological processes. This is actually a very easy fix, easy in planning not so much in practice. When you eat a carb source that is high glycemic (meaning rated over 60 on the glycemic index of foods) your body will immediately use that carb for short term fuel and store the rest. It does that because the way modern foods are processed makes them so easy to digest that your body doesnt have to work very hard to get nutrients out of it. The way to fix this is to eat no carb sources that are above 50 on the glycemic index. Eat a minimum of 5 meals per day. Get the majority of your calories from protein and healthy fats. When you wake up you should immediately eat a meal with a protein source, fat source and low glycemic carb source. Every 2.5-3 hours after you are going to have to keep eating low glycemic carb sources in addition to proteins and dietary fats. You are going to have to start preparing your own foods at home and weighing them and bringing them with you throughout the day. The negative effects of your disease coupled with your body type and the natural decline of metabolism with age will cause about a 10-15lb gain in fat every year until you start addressing the underlying issues. It would be better to eat grains such as oats, veggies like asparagus, broccoli or green beans, or sweet potatoes. For what you have, drinking a soda is literally the worst possible thing you can possibly do. Each time you drink a soda youre creating a small amount of fat tissue. If you are drinking them every day youre constant adding small amounts if fat, and that adds up over time. If you eat grains and the foods I listed above you can mitigate that and possibly start to lose body fat as long as you monitor your portions and calculate out your macros and calories to create a deficit. A 200 cal per day deficit will yield an average body fat loss if 1/2 lb to 2 lbs per week. Thats what you want. Long sustained progress over long periods if time. Not fast weight loss. Stay away from pork in general. Beef needs to be lean cuts of steak, lean roasts, stay away from hamburger or ground beef, chicken breast without skin is the best, tilapia, salmon, orange roughy, and tuna are all good fish sources, no canned tuna, anything wild like venison is fantastic, turkeys good, no deli meats, all fresh. If you need help setting that up, I do nutrition plans for people to help with all kinds of ailments. At first it seems daunting, but once you get all of the math right and put it into practice its easy to change.
