You can make many different things the focus of your life. You can be a builder of things, a destroyer of things, a politician, a ninja, whatever, but, if you make your lifes focus on being an artist or an entertainer, I find that to be a fairly noble and great focus. Mainly because when you entertain, or make art, usually the main goal is to bring happiness and enjoyment to other peoples lives. Sure, its not rocket science or brain surgery, and sure its not finding the cure for cancer, but its sure more noble than what a large portion of humanity spend their life focus on. I find it hard to understand why so many people spend so much time hating on entertainers. That person who made that entertainment did not make it to upset you, or to spur your hatred, they made it to bring enjoyment to others lives. Get off your high horses and realize that the art or entertainment you consider of merit or whatever is not special in any way other than it makes your life better simply by bringing enjoyment to you. That stuff you think is crap, is bringing enjoyment to someones life. And who are you to tear that down and decide its unworthy? Most of the reason people dont like certain entertainment is either, you are not the target demographic, or you have some subjective memory of someone who you didnt like who enjoyed it, or youre just a bitter curmudgeon and you cant find enjoyment in anything.
