You know - I have recently experienced a renewed faith in human kindness - whilst shopping on Friday I watched 2 Rural Fire Brigade workers with trolley loads of replenishments......I spoke to a staff member of the supermarket and mentioned that their purchase should be given to them for free considering all of the work and risking their lives to protect ours and then watched as the Manager of the store went over to advised them that they were giving them $1000 store credit. Spent the first 15 minutes of the local news tonight about the devastation of the fires in the last few days with over 200 + homes lost, loss of animals, belongings and personal treasures and then to go to an ad break where Joyce Mayne are advertising Hot Run Out Deals This Weekend with giant flames dancing across the screen - poor taste and really bad timing! How much would it have hurt this company to stop this advertisement for a few days?!
