You know, I havent even watched this video. But it reminds me of something that seems always to have been true to some extent, but it seems that a toxic mixture of libertarian/anti-government populism and wealthy people who want to get wealthier, have made avoiding tax to be among their very highest ideas, virtues, goals, or whatever you want to call it. But from a completely different perspective that says, Im grateful to be the citizen of a country that does a lot for its citizens and that I make enough money to pay taxes. Im proud of my country and what it does for me and for others around the world. Im willing to pay my share. This does not seem to be a big position these days. But I must say that I wish the right wingers on this issue, who seek to pay less or no taxes -- especially the very wealthy ones who could afford to pay a LOT of taxes and never feel the bite in any significant way -- would just get off their patriotic high horses the rest of the time. Seems to me a little hypocritical to say that youre some kind of patriot and at the same time say you really resent and plan to avoid having to support and help finance your government. Does not align.
