You shall also make a laver of bronze, with its base also of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. And you shall put water in it, for Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in water from it. When they go into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to the Lord, they shall wash with water, lest they die. So they shall wash their hands and their feet, lest they die. And it shall be a statute forever to them--to him and his descendants throughout their generations. I have recently heard the question, Why do we have to continually go to the Lord in repentance since we are already forgiven and justified by faith in Jesus Christ? It is true we are saved by grace through faith, and that is not by works for it is a gift from God. When we go through life, daily we do this and that, we go from this area to the next, we undertake this task and this accomplishment, we are active in life. Therefore, we continually and constantly are prone to making mistakes. It may be a shocker, but yes, even us Christians sin also. B) It is required of us to be holy unto the Lord. In order for us to walk before Him blamelessly we must continually present ourselves and our mistakes at the brazen feet of Jesus. He in turn is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is how we remain clean before Him, how we clean the off the dirt from the trail from us. Yet again, Jesus calls us clean. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. We have the righteousness of God because of Him who knew no sin to atone for and become the sin offering for us. Now we draw near to Him justified and cleansed through the precious blood shed for you and I. Jesus said to him, He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean. But this serves as a reminder to continually walk in fellowship with Him through repentance, righteousness, and blessings. Jesus answered, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Praise the Lord!
