You would hardly credit it, but someone told me that no-one would be mad enough to camp in November (or March) in England. Well, I think they are wrong, and that there are indeed people mad enough – or brave enough, or simply well enough equipped with the right clothes and a decent tent – to camp in November and March quite happily. If you consider what the weather has thrown at us over the last few years, it could well be that our weekend in November is absolutely baking. Or it could snow. Either way the chances are that no one will die from the extreme climate… But for those who can’t face such ordeals, then the options that existed for them in attending the old NLHF when it was at the WEC still exist, and with our very reasonable stall rents and free admission they even have rather more left in their pockets to pay for more luxurious accommodation and the travel back and forth that this entails. I believe that a small coterie of regulars swore by a pub in Priors Marston, which was quite a trek from the WEC, and others made use of a French-chain cheap hotel in Coventry. There are options in Dunchurch, just the other side of the M45. Hardier folk – or perhaps those being more careful with their pennies – can enjoy a social on site before simply retiring to their tents, which is something that no other market can offer them. And on the Saturday night we have a band!!
