Your low back will love your for todays DDYAUG Yoga Break! Try this mini practice to give your low back some relief. If you have a block, grab it! Start with Cat/Cow: Come to your hands and knees. Line your heels up with your knees, and your knees up with your hips. Stack your shoulders right over your wrists. Inhale, drop your belly, look up. Exhale, arch your spine towards the ceiling, and drop your head. Engage the muscles of your arms and legs, and use Uddiyana Bandha - draw the pit of your belly in and up. Deepen and hold the movement as much as you need to. After a couple of minutes of Cat/Cow, take Tarasana. Sit with the soles of your feet together about eighteen inches in front of you. Before you do anything else, ground your seat - move your hips around and ground through your sit bones. Create a neutral pelvis by tilting your pelvis forward and back to find a place that feels grounded for you. Now draw your navel towards your spine and fold forward. If you have a block, stand it on end and rest your head on it. Stay here for at least ten breaths, then come to Supta Baddha Konasana - lie on your back with the soles of your feet together and your knees bent. Finish up with Savasana. Enjoy! Namaste!
