I have one question that may open up a can of worms - If a 2 handed player uses their thumb but only for spares. Can the ball still have a thumb hole and a weight hole? Technically they could deem every ball they have with a thumb and weight hole as a potential spare ball. Thoughts? EDIT: I have been told that the player would need to designate which balls he intends to use for spares and strikes. Meaning that a ball with a thumb and weight hole would only be permitted to be used when using their thumb in the ball at all times the ball rolls down the lane. This doesnt affect me because I dont ever use one hand... I was just curious Another question though: What if I put my thumb in the ball on the approach, then take it out during my approach and use the two handed method? Would that be allowed? Technically its just an early thumb release....really really early :) Again, doesnt affect me because I dont do that, but COULD i do that?
