...enough is enough. For more than 11 years America has been - TopicsExpress

...enough is enough. For more than 11 years America has been engaged in a military mission in Afghanistan. Over time a part of that mission has shifted to the building of roads and schools and to the training of the Afghan military and local police. It all sounds good... if you are looking to justify an endless war with some good news. After all who can argue the good in rooting out Osama bin Laden and the like while teaching the good people of Afghanistan to educate their little girls and at the same time building the Afghan infrastructure so they can grow their social and economic fabric. The thing is... War is not supposed to be Good... War is supposed to be Hell. So it doesnt become Endless. On Friday April 29, 2011 The War in Afghanistan should have ended... but nobody seemed to notice. So everyone lost. The Sunday prior 475 Taliban warriors tunneled out of an Afghan prison. It was an inside job. And then on Wednesday an American trained Afghan Soldier used his training to slaughter 9 American Soldiers... and then a world away the American Homeland was ravaged by a series of mega-tornadoes. Over three hundred Americans lost their lives and the total loss of property will never really be known. And then the Mississippi flood waters raged and the floodgates opened. Whats clear is this was one time that Americans desperately needed the services of their National Guard at home... and we needed the financial resources to re-build American schools, homes and roads and we shouldnt need to raise The Debt Ceiling to get it all done... But we do. The horrific ironic symbolism and timing of The Afghan Betrayals at the exact same time huge numbers of American citizens are suffering... well, lets just say this should have been the moment Americans finally joined together to say enough is enough. At least thats what would have happened in a sane world. But in this world... The Royal Wedding was on this day. And that is all that really seemed to matter that week and who can blame the media for covering the wedding instead of the Afghan shooting... Americans obviously need a break from all the bad news. Whats the moral of this story? The idea of Royalty doesnt work for anybody... in this modern world. For more: https://facebook/TheEndofAmericanRoyalty
