Hebrews 12:2 Focus your eyes on Christ When driving, it is advisable to constantly keep your eyes focused on the road and horizon rather than the immediate surrounding around you. If you continually drive when looking to the right or left, well you might just end up in the next ditch. This is because you may be distracted by various activities happening around you. Satan is good at causing roadside distractions that tempt us to look at him rather than at Jesus. If he can get our attention easily, he may be able to get us off track and delay our spiritual progress. In fact we must remember that he is cunning and can even suggest ‘better ways’ to accomplish your work which in the real sense these ways may not be in line with what Christ would have us do. Therefore, the way to stay out of spiritual ditches is to fix our eyes on Jesus the author and finisher of our faith and deliberately refuse to even glance at Satan’s distraction. The only way to overcome temptations that we face is to be focused on the Lord by constantly reading his word and praying because he will always strengthen us by His grace.
