here we go with the yearly Thanksgiving battle. Like the Christmas one and the Fathers day one... Thanksgiving isnt a holy day. It is a national day of celebration. Clearly they are celebrating the death and atrocity that has happened to a race of.. a nation of people.. who have not.. recovered. I cant do much about it. My FB protest will fall on death ears.. and the smell of stuffing is going to shut my mouth in due course. however. Every year.. we spend the time this holiday affords us with family to BUILD.. and PLAN.. and be pointed as a unit. To come to terms with the last 12 months. To acknowledge that we ARE in fact thankful to be alive .. even surrounded by the oppressor. We are thankful for the sacrifices of our ancestors, their strength and resolve to SURVIVE ... that we might LIVE. We are THANKFUL. but we are pointed and we are preparing. We are thankful that we live to fight another day. That the opportunity to overcome still exist.. the opportunity to unite against our common oppressor can still happen. I am thankful for a new generation of young people who are evolving past many of our prejudices and bigotries ... There is hope.. for things we could not imagine ... Ive seen the entire world change because some college nerd came up with a computer program called Facebook. Im encouraged by this.. and It makes me believe that anything is possible if I am willing to make it so a nd I am thankful for that bit of encouragement. So.. do with it as you will.. Me, Im using EVERYTHING as a spring board towards my success. NYOIL the church of now.
