how to don gloves... -you need to do the hand hygiene first -then put your sterile package on a clean and dry surface area above your waist line -remove the outer cover by peeling the back top of the layer then get the inner package holding only the outside of it. -open the inner package exposing the sterilized gloves with the folded cuffs near you. -using your thumb and forefinger of your nondominant hand, grasp the end of the folded cuff for the dominant hand. -lift and hold the gloves. be careful not to touch any unsterile object. -carefully put your dominant hand inside the gloves and pull it on. -holding the thumb outward, put your finger underneath the folded cuff of the remaining glove and lift it up. -carefully insert the nondominant hand into the glove and adjust it. how to remove gloves.... -using your dominant hand.. grasp the end part of the cuff and remove by inverting it and keeping the contaminated part inside. hold on to the glove. -slide your fingers of the ungloved hand inside the remaining glove and remove it by inverting it again and keeping the contaminated part inside and the other glove. -dispose the gloves in an appropriate container and do again the hand hygiene.
