Want to know why you should like my photo? Read below, thank you Hi, my name is Sophie Webster, I am 19yrs old and I have done everything with my horses myself and never had a made up pony. Even when I was little at just 8yrs old I broke in my lead rein pony and 6 weeks later came 2nd in our first RIHS qualifier. We have 40 horses in total; we have a riding school and livery yard, we are a pony club centre and run our own competitions, we also work with people who are disabled and having learning disabilities. I have 5 horses/ ponies to compete this season. I have a highland A sec B 4yr old A middle weight hunter/ladies hunter - 4yr old Large riding horse/ ladies hunter/ WH And an ROR/ riding horse. My large riding horse -Lucek is a pro, but we have worked hard to make him the horse he is today: When we got Polo we bought him unseen from Scotland, he was backed and ridden away but that was it! I have brought him on and we have achieved great things. We got him on a Monday in May and had a local open show planned depending on how he was, I schooled him all that week and took him to the show on the Sunday, he won all His classes took ridden champion and reserve supreme in show, from then on we have never looked back and the same year 2011 we took him to POYS where we competed side saddle for the first time and astride, and we won 4 championships! Last year was a tough year for our horses and family due to flooding, at the end of November 2012 we were flooded and had to evacuate the horses, some of our stables and our house is built up considerably ( 1m) from the rest of our yard. And left my horses in the stables hoping the river would peak before they went but sadly it did not and the stables and house went. We had to swim the horses out and with the help of friends and the power of Facebook we found places for all 40 of our horses to stay until the water went down. Unfortunately we flooded two more times- new year and around march, not as bad as the first time but not far off and once again the horses had to be moved. And we lost everything! Sadly this meant all our plans for the start of the season didnt happen but despite this set back we still managed to get out competing and started the season with a bang side saddle, we won the classical ladies qualifier and took champion. weve had Polo for 3yrs now and last year started contesting HOYS qualifiers for the first time, being pulled 2nd twice in ladies hunter qualifiers. I also do side saddle with him and have done exceptionally well winning the Performance Horse class at the side saddle nationals (we have to do a show and incorporate 3 jumps into it that were 3ft!) and we also took champion. We were also 6th side saddle rider of the year. And jump and style 3 shows challenge champion for the 3rd year running. Just a few of our results.
