https://youtube/watch?v=7-cS_ptYF9I The Roman Emperor Augustus died 2,000 years ago today. There are numerous celebrations in Rome, including the opening of rarely seen locations such as his tomb. To a generation of English people though, Augustus Caesar is immortalised by the actor Brian Blessed, who played him with such authority in the series I Claudius (based on the Robert Graves books). So my tribute to Caesar today is to share with you a short, and lighthearted, film I wrote and directed about Roman artillery. It is presented by Brian Blessed and also by my good friend Gordon Summers. Both gave splendid performances.
