https://youtube/watch?v=N1mIcYz-DM8#t=137 I have no love for the University of Michigan, watching the Gophers absolute decimate the Wolverines last night was awesome. While I would love for Michigan to continue this dumpster fire of a season to continue under Hoke, the fact that his ignorance put the life of one of his players in danger makes my blood boil. For those of you who didnt watch the game, this video shows Morris being beaten down over several minutes by the Minnesota defense. Skip to 2:35, Morris gets leveled, comes up and is clearly shaken. He needs the help of one of his linemen to help him even stand. You can see one of the Michigan WRs signaling to the training staff to come take a look at Morris, but no one comes out. Morris takes another snap and is nearly picked off. After the play hes clearly gassed, at which Hoke FINALLY pulls him and replaces him with Gardner. At 5:00, Gardner loses his helmet and has to come out for a play. For some reason the third string QB cant find his helmet, so Morris is sent back in again to hand the ball off. I could not believe what I was seeing. Hoke was putting a player, who was showing symptoms of a concussion, BACK IN THE GAME. He was replaced by Gardner for the rest of the game, but at that point the damage had already been done. To add to the dumpster fire: I dont know if he had a concussion or not, I dont know that, Hoke said. Shanes a pretty competitive, tough kid. And Shane wanted to be the quarterback, and so, believe me, if he didnt want to be he wouldve come to the sideline or stayed down. This literally makes me want to rip my hair out and scream. In every sport kids are taught to fight through the pain and overcome adversity. OF COURSE hes not going to come out of the game willingly, he doesnt want to let his teammates down. Adrenaline clouds your judgement, hes not going to want to come out of the game unless hes unable to continue. PART OF YOUR JOB AS A COACH is to say NO, you are coming out of the game YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO USE YOUR JUDGEMENT TO PROTECT YOUR ATHLETES. Whether or not Brady Hoke should be fired for the dumpster fire that is Michigan Football this season, I honestly could care less about. Brady Hoke SHOULD be fired for being completely obvious of the well-being of his athletes. And no, this isnt some kind of hindsight bias. Everyone watching the Mich-Min game could see that Morris could barely stand, yet somehow HIS HEAD COACH was COMPLETELY OBVIOUS? Absolutely inexcusable.
