i figured out my distaste of this show(above and beyond the fact that HBO shows are sooo highbrow as to become complacent) this show had the flag in the title---GAME of thrones...more like Monopoly than Chess, more like Go For Broke than Go, it is mostly diplomatic and far less symptomatic--just not for me... i will watch season 3 on reruns 5 years from now as regularly scheduled and still count only 3 in the number of HBO shows that inspired me to watch over the 20 odd years it has been alive (Kids in the Hall, Tales from the Crypt, and Deadwood)
