i was just like t his guy except in reverse. I wanted to join the Service (USAF) and didnt make the cut. So, i moved to southern IL to work underground in the coal mines. Even when I was working in the mines I would help Veterans. They were done so wrong. They came home expecting their jobs back as promised but many didnt. Some fought in war, came home went to school to work in the coal mines and werent hired. Womens lib was strong back then and the coal mines had to hire so many woman per ratio of man. I cant recall the number but my Veteran experienced this when he came home from Vietnam and didnt get the job in the mines. As for me, I tried to serve but at least I got the job to make my kids lives better. I pay for it now physically. anyway i watched this and got to thinkin.
