ive actually had a pretty incredible year... but instead of the typical look at me, the things i have, and the things im able to do recap post – id rather share what is going on in this country from my vantage point. id rather share the things that are going on which are directly and adversely affecting others. things that im conscious (and selfish) enough to know, will ultimately effect my children and their children if left unchecked. im aware enough to know that i am not safe, unless we are all safe – that my child is not safe, unless all children are safe. there are many negative aspects of our society that are intractable or unsolvable, but this unfettered and unwarranted abuse of lethal power is not one of them. it is inhumane and corrupting. it has been going on since the inception of the american experiment and it must end completely, if we are to be a free society. this is not about religion, gender, color or creed, its about the stripping away of our civil rights. the rights guaranteed by the constitution. its about a disregard for human life by a select few – and the system, funded by its citizens, that has found no fault in the actions of this select few. it is well planned, well executed and well financed. if we continue to ignore these actions and instead only use these channels of communication to transmit the irrelevant and trivial, then who are we to ask for help when were ultimately burned by the flames that our willful ignorance fuels? those of us who have sought education know that education and liberation are not the same thing. education is only the first step towards liberation. weve lost our knowledge of self, the understanding of our collective history and the wisdom which is provided by that understanding. weve replaced that wisdom with an incessant need for distraction from our reality, an apathy towards others, a sheepish trust of corrupted media and a true lust for ignorance. the bliss provided by ignorance is fleeting and no financial inheritance can save our progeny from the world that our apathy is creating. we are allowing the creation of a world ruled by fear that our children will inherit, inhabit and will be forced to navigate in the absence of our protection. my evidence is the fact that videos like this exist, yet it still happens every single day. ive seen many more of these horrors, but what really scares me is the thought of how many of these situations occur without a recording device handy. this video is graphic, and extremely hard to watch... this is why the people in ferguson rioted: youtu.be/tzOl3zZyhhY
