last October 4, I was asked to attend a seminar at Butuan City in lieu of a friend who cant make it k busy xa....so we were the substitue, I wasnt told nga speakers training diay ang among apilan, ug sa dihang namugnaw gyuud kog ayo. perti ang akong singot tho aircon ang among venue. pero public speaking is not new to me k nka kuha kog subject ani when i was still in college. pero to the extent nga persuasive public speaking ang among himoon, ambut lang! I was so gikulbaan k wala pa q experience with this. then as a requirement for completion we were asked to prepare a speech concerning a certain topic and then after an hour, practicum daun. Pastilan dolor! I was like, What? pwede audience nlang q? but gamay ra mi nga participants so definitely, kaming tanan gyud ang dapat nga muapil sa practicum.......i wasnt so sure of what to talk about sa speech nga akong gigama, and I didnt know if I could pass the standards of the Trainors, but this I say, mao na gyud to ang tnan nako nga paningkamot....hehehehehehe....Im not gud at public speaking bya. as much as I hate to do it. kulba man gud...hehehehe....anyway, what I wrote was more like an essay than a speech, pero ingon among trainor, ok na dw xa. pwede na.....so here is what I wrote and delivered nga speech sa practicum.... Hello, maayong adlaw kaninyong tanan. ako nanghinaut nga kamo anaa sa maayong panglawas. My respect to the higher authorities seated at the head table. Mapasalamaton ko sa inyong pag-imbitar kanako nga maoy mahimo nga speaker sa inyong programa sa pagsaulog sa World Teachers Day. Happy World Teachers Day, by the way. Mga teachers, maam ug sir karong adlawa is the only day throughout the whole year where we are given due acknowledgement for being teachers. I know for a fact nga we are all aware nga if not because of us and of our teachings, all of the other profession would not come to existence, right? Palakapakan sa nato ato mga kaugalingon beh? salamat. Teaching is indeed the noblest of professions mao nga we are somehow branded as the unsung heroes. However, in spite of the fact nga overworked na kai ta, overpopulated atoang mga classrooms, ug gihansakan pa gyud ta og sangkatutak nga paperworks, our salaries doesnt seem to compensate the labor we do for our country, do you agree? Mao bitaw nga daghan kai tag sideline, di ba? But hello, teachers, papayag ba tayo nga in ani nalang perminte ang set-up? No way! That is why we, through the efforts of the ALLIANCE OF CONCERNED TEACHERS are waking you up. Mangmata na ta. Dili nato paaboton nga malubong tag ayo sa atong mga utang kay dili paigo ang atong sweldo. Injustice na siya! That is why we are urging you to join us. Heed the call. Join us claim what is rightfully ours. We should demand for salary increase not because we need it but because we deserve it. and ACT TEACHERS is our only ticket nga madungog sa gobiyerno ang atong mga hangyo. Tabangi mi, tabangi ang ACT TEACHERS nga iudyok ang mga nasa kapangyarihan na maisabatas ang HB 245. Join us now! Muapil man gani tag walk for a cause nga paninglan tag registration, how much more for this. This is for our own good. Lastly, we would like to appeal to the government through our president, PNOY. Hear our clamor. Be fair in your judgement, and be true to your words. The children are our future, and we, the teachers are the only key to open the doors of that future. Finally, before I end, I would like to quote a verse from the Bible which says, Let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not. Padayon lang ta for soon enough, we will be given an answer. Thank you and good day. :-) :-) mao ra to xa. thanks for reading...share if you wish to....
