likedatosocanmeh 20140711 More nonsense from PAP MP Hri Kumar’s ‘damage control’ on Facebook July 11, 2014 by phillip ang likedatosocanmeh.wordpress/2014/07/11/20140711-pap-mp-hri-kumars-belated-damage-control-on-facebook/ Quote: Many netizens have commented on PAP MP Hri Kumar’s CPF Forum as being just another ‘wayang’. Kumar is no CPF expert but had organised the Forum without the presence of any CPF officers! During the session, Kumar was merely trying to explain how good the CPF system was. He was not listening to his constituents’ issue at all. youtube/watch?v=cA80X5pHj_o Kumar: “CPF matters to my residents. It is my duty to understand their concerns, clarify misunderstandings…”. Well, so what happened at all your the Meet-the-People-Sessions over the years? You mean you are able to listen only at a Forum? His recent FB post is merely an attempt at damage control. But he spouts even more nonsense. Kumar says “today, we are also in a war – not the conventional kind – but one for the hearts and minds of Singaporeans”. Wa lau eh, so serious must use the word ‘war’ meh? Recall his PAP colleague Chan Chun Sing had said “we will have to do battle everywhere as necessary”. All MPs should take note that Singapore is a peaceful country; we should not give the wrong impression to foreign investors that we are in some kind of a war zone and we “do battle everywhere”. Our neighbours may get the wrong message and put their military on high alert. The problem with these PAP politicians is they cannot win the argument on transparency and will take some evasive action, a skill learnt during NS. Don’t ask new citizen PAP MP Puthucheary, he wouldn’t know cause he didn’t serve. Kumar: “Most accepted that CPF was a good system, but could do with a few tweaks.” Say what Kumar?! Are you referring to Norway’s pension fund? Our multi objective CPF system is now BROKEN. It has only served Goh Chok Tong’s asset enhancement policy by shackling public housing (HDB) lessees to 30 year mortgages. Broken CPF facts: Minister Tan Chuan Jin said that “In 2013, 50% of those who turned 55 that year met the Minimum Sum”. But this includes “about 15% of active CPF members (who) used their properties to help meet up to half of the Minimum Sum”. So the net figure is about 35%! So I would like to ask Kumar: “If you score 35% in your exams, would you just tweak your daily routine like maybe increase your study time from 10 minutes to 15? Or do you think you should do something REALLY serious to improve your scores?” CPF is of course loose change to Kumar and he is unable to put himself in the shoes of ordinary Singaporeans who NEED our retirement savings. Kumar digresses in an attempt to apple polish the PAP with the “need to understand why we have done well in the last 50 years”, “hard work”, “free of corruption” and a load of crap that’s got nothing to do with the CPF issue! Kumar ends with a request to his residents “to openly share their thoughts” and “step forward and make a difference”. Well, Roy did step forward and it resulted in the recent CPF questions being asked in Parliament. But look at the price he has paid – the loss of income and likelihood of being made a bankrupt. Let’s be frank, Kumar, if the PAP government has been listening, CPF issues would not have compounded over the years. Till today, Kumar has still refused to acknowledge CPF members want OUR CPF monies back, not in dribs and drabs and a transparent CPF/GIC.Nothing less. I would like to have a really honest conversation with Hri Kumar and ask him these questions: - Does Kumar know where our CPF monies are invested? - If not, why is Kumar so confident in our CPF system? - Why does Kumar want CPF members to continue accepting the opacity if there is nothing wrong at GIC? If Kumar’s knowledge on the CPF is as good as yours and mine, wasn’t Kumar merely speculating at his CPF Forum? Wasn’t Kumar’s Forum a wayang?
