looks like my family is not even considered middle class dunno why people call me rich -_- Based on the answer Many Filipinos consider themselves as middle class when in fact theyre not. Theyre actually lower, much lower. Middle class is a family who: 1. has a less than 5-year old car - our car was bought back in 2004 2. can take a family vacation at least once a year, - last time we took a family vacation was when I was in grade school 3. can afford to send the children to private school but only spend around 10-15% on education and childrens allowance. - We had a really hard time when my and my siblings were still studying 4. owns a small house or spend only around 20% of income on rent - well ya we do own a house XD 5. is able to save 20% of the income - Savings? the hell is that? 6. has decent meals without scrimping - I eat cheezewiz and peanut butter for lunch is that considered decent? 7. goes out/dines out as a family once a week - we never go out to eat together 8. can occasionally splurge - if I want something I need to find my own money (even when I still a student)
